Dog Blog A Day for National Pet Month – Mucky Mutts Dog Grooming

Question of the day (QotD) – Do you get your dog groomed and if so, how often?

20210331_195725

Mucky Mutts Dog Grooming is based in Crediton, Devon. I get my Setter X Cocker groomed there every 6 weeks, yes I know, that’s a lot. But with a coat like his and his desire to be the most handsome dog on the street, it is the only way to keep him happy! He favours the industrial hair drier too I am told…

I really wanted to tell you all about Jo as she needs to be celebrated. Jo has the patience of a saint and such a kind heart, the dogs seem to know straight away that they are in safe hands. My dog can be a little anxious to say the least. But Jo always gets the best from him and he really enjoys going to see her, he makes a fuss until I have left and then is an angel, funny that!

For this mini-blog series I am sending each blog collaborator a list of questions to get more of an insight into their mindset and their business. Here is what Jo had to say -

How does your business help dogs and their people?

I help to keep dogs healthy and happy and customers have peace of mind that I health check their dog before the grooming process begins.

What are your goals and ambitions for your business  over the next year and how can we help?

To help my business grow in an uncertain year ahead.

What is your favourite part of your job?

Just being with so many gorgeous dogs and seeing them so happy

What is the funniest thing that has happened in your job?

When the shower hose slipped out of my hand and soaked the whole grooming room and everyone who was in the room! It was totally out of control!

What are your favourite things about your community of clients, customers and supporters?

Their loyalty and kindness

If this wasn’t your job what would you do instead?

I would like to help train assistance dogs.

If you were to start a business again, what advise would you give yourself in general?

Value yourself and charge what your worth

If you could be any dog, what breed would you be and how does that align with your personality?

I'm definitely a Cocker Spaniel...very needy

What is the earliest dog related memory that you can recall?

Playing in the garden with our German Shepherd

Name three things you couldn’t live without?

My dogs, good food and the beach.

If you already have Jo as your dogs’ groomer you know how lucky you are, I know she is pretty booked up. If you are looking for a groomer for your dog, Nicola works at Mucky Mutts too, so your dog will receive the same love and attention from her.
