It is the final week of my Dog Blog a Day to raise awareness of local dog services for National Pet Month. To start this week of I introduce you to Nicola Shears – owner of Tails A Waggin – offers a Dartmoor based home boarding and day care service for your treasured pups. I provide a dog walking, boarding and day care service

Build my business back up after the pandemic. Little things like you reaching out and offering this made my day ☺️
What was your biggest triumph from the last year?
Making it through the Covid-19 pandemic.
What is your favourite part of your job?
Being outdoors with the dogs over the Devonshire countryside
What is the funniest thing that has happened in your job?
Witnessing a Standard Poodle squash himself into the smallest travel crate, it was his choice!
What are your favourite things about your community of clients, customers and supports?
Getting to know and understand different breeds and meeting their owners
If this wasn’t your job what would you do instead?
My old job – nursing
If you were to start a business again, what advice would you give yourself in general?
Have a day off!
If you could be any dog, what breed would you be and how does that align with your personality?
Labrador - hard working, eats anything and enjoys the outdoors whatever the weather
What is the earliest dog related memory that you can recall?
Experiencing breeding my own Labrador, Bella, she had a litter of six, it was amazing. I call them “my inspirational litter” as this is what inspired me to start my business
Name three things you couldn’t live without?
My husband Phil, my son Callum and my daughter Beth they have and still are so supportive, and of course my girls Bella & Ruby
