Hello there,
So my overly enthusiastic Cocker x Setter got himself into a spot this week.
The abridged version is we went to a new scent training class on Sunday, we arrived early, did a once round the local park.
I opened the passenger door to get his treats and water for the class, he panicked in a way only he can, jumped onto the seat (he never goes in the front of any car so he doesn't know the layout).
He got his right hind leg caught between the seat and the seat runner, panicked again and fell into the footwell with his leg still wedged, panicked again and fell out backwards onto the pavement, you guessed it, with his leg still stuck under the seat.
It happened so fast, I grabbed him, got him the right way up and managed to free his leg.
That sick feeling overwhelmed me, I expected to see it swinging in the breeze at an odd angle. It was swinging in the breeze but luckily pointing the right way! So emergency call to the vets, me a few hundred quid lighter, Joe with a bad sprain, but luckily no breaks!
He is still on three legs, on rest(hah) and trying to keep him calm (double hah) - yes, I am trying to keep a Cocker/Setter calm. I have your sympathy right? Especially if you have ever met him!!
Anyway, enough of yet more dramas from me, I would love to know if you have had to change your best laid plans because of your dog?
I am also jumping on here, to let you know how my photo challenge is coming along.
Just as a recap, I am taking part in a 6 month photo challenge with togs across the globe, thanks to Craig and Charlotte at Unleashed. All for a bit of fun, creativity and collaboration. So, another two challenge submissions are done, that's three finished, 9 to go? If you haven't signed your pooch up yet please do, I still have 9 challenges so plenty of opportunities. You get a free web resolution image of the submission from the shoot too, what's not to love?
Challenge 2 - Spaced Out...not the dog I have to add. It was all about the negative space around the dog. What a cool model Gizmo made down at the Quay in Exeter. Such a dude, such a cute face. Absolutely loved him and his character. Thank you Jess.
Challenge 3 - High & Lows. All about high key or low key images. Brief explanation, high key is bright and happy, lots of reflected light. Low key images are dark, moody with a single light source. You can see what I went for?
I am now on the look out for my next model ...
I need to photograph a dog at home! Do you have a golden oldie or more nervous dog who would be happier photographed in their home environment, we just need a few large windows or French doors to make it picture perfect. Maybe you have a house cat, that would be cool too.
Please get in touch if you think you have a willing model - sign up here
