Looking for a reasonably priced Christmas gift for a horsey friend or livery yard owner. Why not buy a calendar for their tack room or their kitchen?
There are so many horsey calendars to choose from, I have selected two for you that are close to my heart as the proceeds go to charity, which is a win win in my eyes.
My first choice is raising money for The Equine Grass Sickness Fund, photographed by The Heald Town Highland Pony Stud, featuring their own ponies and also, drum role please, the stunning HM The Queens Balmoral Highland Ponies.
I am drawn to this calendar not only as Grass Sickness is heart breaking and needs so much more funding for research but Heald Town Highland Pony Stud is where I bought my retired stallion Bertie from. Yes, I am Highland Pony mad and proud. Pretty much anything with a Highland Pony or Highland Cow on is a winner in my book. I am Scottish after all!
The second choice I bring to you is The Mare and Foal Sanctuary 2022 Calendar. I have worked alongside the sanctuary for the past 8 years, helping to provide some of the photographs for their calendar each year. In turn helping them to raise much needed funds for the great work that they do.
All charities have had an even harder time fund raising over the past two years. This is just a little way of giving back. I have got myself several copies of both these calendars for Christmas presents for friends, don't tell anyone!!
